Why does my steering wheel shake or vibrate while driving?

Left unchecked, a shaking steering wheel often gets worse over time. Although it usually is not of immediate concern, you should have it checked right away because it could be a malfunction that affects the safety of your vehicle.
1. Warped Brake Rotors
about 99% of the time a warped rotor is causing your steering wheel to shake when you step on the brake pedal.
2. Uneven or Unbalanced Tires
If your steering wheel shakes while driving and not when you are stepping on the brake pedal then you might have a tire problem. To check if this is the problem you can simply have your tires re-balanced. Our Tire and Wheel balancer will re balance your wheels to a factory smooth ride. Our Trained Technicians use a machine that spins the wheel and lets us know the precise placement of weights to ensure a smooth ride.
3. Alignment Problems
Here at Tanner's Garage our alignment machine can handle all makes and models. All vehicles are test driven before and after to ensure a straight steering wheel with no pulling to one side or another and to ensure that you get the maximum life out of your tires.
Let our Friendly Team help you with all of your Automotive needs. From Tires to Oil Changes we can assist with it all.
